The study "Consequences of War-Related Traumatic Stress Among Palestinian Young People in the Gaza Strip: A Scoping Review," published in December 2023, examines the impact of conflict on the mental health of Palestinian youth in the Gaza Strip.

Authored by Abdallah Abudayya and colleagues, this research highlights the severe psychological effects of war-related stress on young Palestinians, emphasising the critical need for mental health support and interventions to alleviate their trauma.

The article "Addressing the Mental Health Crisis Among Children in Gaza," published in February 2024, highlights the severe impact of ongoing violence on the mental well-being of Gaza's children, where 53.5% were experiencing PTSD even before the latest escalation in October 2023.

It underlines the urgent need for mental health interventions amidst challenges like the shortage of professionals and restrictions on aid. Proposed solutions include immediate mental health care projects, to provide psychosocial support to affected children and their families. The piece also stresses the importance of enabling access to hygiene kits and restoring utilities to improve living conditions, thereby supporting the mental and physical health of Gaza's young population.

This study examines the impact of the wars on Gaza (2008, 2012, & 2014), focusing on interventions for Palestinian PTSD sufferers. It compares three programs: Therapeutic, Psycho-social Support, and Focusing, using a PTSD scale by Altawil (2016) for assessment. Results show significant PTSD reduction across all interventions, underscoring their effectiveness. The research advocates for culturally and contextually tailored evaluation tools and suggests future studies should explore On-going Traumatic Stress Disorder (OTSD) to better understand trauma in war-affected regions.
